missing summer

this is from our last weekend at the lake - it was a little chilly and we were sad to see another lake season end.  One of my favorite memories was the fire we built on a previous night hanging out with the kids and telling funny stories...now we are full into school, both for me and the kids and we're missing summer already.

thirteen was a good year...hope he makes as many memories in his fourteenth. happy birthday jake.

the days are slipping by. . .

on the board for today:  Josie's 2nd grade math fact showdown (we shoulda studied more subtraction), Jake's English final and prep for Math & Science finals (wish we could switch to midterms), Kayla's 6th grade Promotion Ceremony (have to figure out how to get decent seats saved).  Pausing to capture the memories so they don't slip away...

summer soon?

it's this time of year that is our favorite and most busy.  lacrosse games, softball, dance competitions and recitals and a couple communions thrown in there.  i'm amazed at how fast the school year went and how much the kids have grown.  as much as i want summer to be here i would like for it all to S L O W down.  a couple captures from yesterday...

was able to get this capture yesterday in the yummy light.  prepping for Jo's 1st Communion...forecast is not so good but no matter, lots of family in town which we love best.
